Expect extended delays on OR 219 between Newberg and Woodburn starting July 24

Watch for lower speeds and highway workers as we alternate traffic on a single lane

Plan ahead – expect delays on OR 219 between Newberg and Woodburn for about two weeks starting July 24. A pilot car will lead traffic using a single lane during this pavement preservation work.

Expect reduced speeds in the work zone, which runs from milepost 25 at McKay Road, about two miles south of Newberg, through St. Paul to milepost 36 in Woodburn. We estimate completion around Aug. 4, but work is weather dependent and the schedule may change.

This is a “chip seal” project which uses rock chips and oil to seal in the pavement, adding years of use to the highway and making the surface resistant to potholes in winter weather.

Most work will be done during the day, but lane closures could extend into the night.

Please plan extra time for your trip during the project, watch for reduced speed limits and for highway workers.
