Exit 259 for U.S. 30 eastbound in La Grande scheduled to close July 11 through July 31

The eastbound off-ramp at Exit 259 will be closed for two weeks starting the morning of Tuesday, July 11. This closure is to accommodate work on the Oro Dell Bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad. The closure will not affect traffic on Interstate 84. The westbound ramp on U.S. 30 will remain open.

The contractor will be removing then replacing the existing bridge surface, installing fencing, finishing new bridge rail and paving approaches on each end of the bridge. The closure is needed as there is not enough room on the bridge for this work to proceed with live traffic.

This is a full closure to all vehicles at Exit 259 for U.S. 30 eastbound. Portable message signs on I-84 will alert travelers to the closure. Once the bridge reopens July 31, the contractor will be working on minor tasks to finish the project.
