Construction Update
We're working at several locations on OR 58
There are several work zones in the corridor over the next few weeks including our partners relocating utilities, routine maintenance and crews working on projects.
Plan ahead – with so much work happening in the corridor, expect delays and give yourself extra time to make your trip. Work is weather dependent and our schedules may change. Learn about some of the work we're doing below.
Know before you go – visit TripCheck.com for the most up to date information on traffic impacts.
Paving Preservation: Salt Creek Tunnel to Milepost 70
Now that we've completed paving, we're:
Installing rumble strips.
Applying permanent striping and reflectors.
Installing signs.
Crews are working during the day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Learn more about the project by visiting the webpage.
Salt Creek Tunnel Work and Seismic Landslide Mitigation
We're doing routine maintenance to the Salt Creek Tunnel between milepost 55.8 to 56.5:
Cleaning the ditches.
Sweeping the road.
Clearing out the drains.
Fixing lighting issues.
Filling potholes.
You'll also see crews west of the tunnel exploring the area and testing rock stability as part of a seismic landslide mitigation project.
This requires single lane closures starting Monday, June 12 through June 15, between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Please use caution as you go through the area. Expect flaggers and pilot cars helping direct traffic.
Culvert Repair and Replacement
We're working on the culvert at milepost 15.5. Expect delays, 24/7 lane closures and flaggers helping direct traffic:
Monday, June 26 at 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, June 30.
Possibly Monday, July 10 at 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, July 14.
Learn more about the project by visiting the webpage.
Coast Fork Willamette River to Lower Salt Creek Bridges
We anticipate construction starting in August on a project to retrofit four bridges in the corridor:
Coast Fork Willamette River Bridge.
Willamette River (Barnard) Bridge.
Salmon Creek Bridge.
Lower Salt Creek Bridge.
We expect minimal impacts to drivers. Most of the work can be done under the bridges but expect occasional nighttime lane closures.
