Expect delays on U.S. 20 near Vale for paving work

VALE - Starting June 20, the Oregon Department of Transportation will be constructing pavement upgrades along sections of U.S. Highway 20 (Central Oregon Highway) near Vale in Malheur County. The work will run between milepost 246 and 247 in both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the highway. Travelers should expect traffic pattern changes and lane closures with flaggers or signs directing traffic. Delays at the Highway 451 (Graham Blvd.) intersection will also occur during paving work.

Please plan for delays of up to 20 minutes, slow down, obey flaggers and construction signs, and watch out for crews. Use alternate routes to avoid the work zone.

Activities includes grinding old pavement and inlaying new asphalt to create a smoother, safer travel surface. The pavement project is expected to be complete be the end of June.

Work is weather dependent and dates may change without notice.
