PORTLAND, Ore. – The loop on-ramp connecting southbound OR 43 to I-205 northbound in West Linn will close completely for 23 days in June. The closure begins on Friday, June 2 at 10 p.m., and ends on Monday, June 26 at 5 a.m.
This closure is necessary for construction crews to work on the new roundabout that will connect OR 43 with I-205 northbound. This project is one of the critical safety components of the I-205 Improvements Project’s work around the Abernethy Bridge.
During this closure, drivers will follow a detour using I-205 southbound to Exit 6 (10th Street), crossing under the freeway, and then get on I-205 northbound. This detour route has been used multiple times in the past. Signs will help guide travelers.
ODOT encourages drivers to keep informed of construction-related travel impacts by signing up for email and text message alerts. They can also visit tripcheck.com for the latest traffic conditions.
ODOT appreciates everyone’s patience during this temporary on-ramp closure.
When construction is complete in 2025, the Abernethy Bridge will be the first earthquake ready interstate bridge across the Willamette River in the Portland metropolitan area.
As part of ODOT’s Urban Mobility Strategy, the I-205 Improvements Project will improve our economy by providing Oregonians safer, more reliable access to work and critical services, even after an earthquake or other major disaster. Construction has started on the project’s first phase and will last through 2025. Learn more about the project at: i205corridor.org.
