Project Update |
|
|
Here are the latest updates for the OR 34 Van Buren Bridge and the U.S. 20 Safety projects
OR 34 Van Buren Bridge
We've been preparing the area and bringing in equipment to start construction of the new bridge. You can expect construction noise from pile driving to start towards the end of May and continue through October as we build the detour and work bridges.
Activities on the west side of the bridge, near downtown, will start within the next few months. We'll need to clear vegetation and trees to prepare the construction staging and work bridge access areas. When we start to work on the west side, the bike and pedestrian path under the bridge will close for the duration of the project. See below alternate routes and view them in our online open house.
We'll be at the Corvallis Albany Farmers Market on May 13 and May 20 If you're in the area, stop by the Farmers Market to ask us questions and learn more about the work we're doing.
Alternate route for pedestrians and bikes during the first stage of construction.

U.S. 20 Safety Upgrades
We are currently paving between Garland Nursery and Bowers Slough Bridge/east of Independence Highway. Some of the work is being done during the day and some is being done at night.
Starting May 22, we'll start work in the median lane to install low profile concrete traffic separators at the Independence Highway intersection. After that we will do the same at the Granger Avenue intersection. While doing this work, we'll restrict left turns on and off the highways for one week each. While the left turns are not allowed, signed detours will direct traffic to use Pettibone Road and Springhill Road. All schedules are subject to change.
Learn more about the work we're doing by visiting the project webpage.
