The lower deck of the Fremont Bridge will close Friday night April 21 for inspection.

Northbound Interstate 405 over the lower deck of the Fremont Bridge will close from 9 p.m. Friday, April 21 until 6 a.m. Saturday, April 22 while crews inspect the bridge.

The work will mean several closures:

  • The eastbound U.S. 30/Northwest Vaughn Street ramp onto the bridge will be closed with traffic directed onto southbound I-405.
  • Northbound I-405 traffic will be closed at U.S. 26, with all traffic directed onto westbound U.S. 26 and the Vista Ridge Tunnel.
  • The ramp from eastbound U.S. 26 to northbound I-405 will be closed with traffic directed onto southbound I-405.
  • The Northwest Couch Street and Glisan Street northbound on-ramps will be closed.

During the closure, lifts will be used to inspect the underside of the bridge, part of the biennial inspection of the bridge.

The Fremont Bridge opened in November 1973 and will mark its 50th anniversary later this year.
