Overnight I-5 south closures tonight
Motorists will use I-405 south during the overnight closures
A contractor for the Oregon Department of Transportation will close the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 south of the Marquam Bridge from 11:30 p.m. tonight, March 26, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 27.
During the closure, motorists heading south on I-5 will take the Fremont Bridge although access to Interstate 84 eastbound and the Morrison Bridge from I-5 southbound will remain open.
Travel lanes on I-5 southbound will start closing at 10:30 p.m. with the full closure beginning at 11:30 p.m. The southbound closure will allow the contractor to work above the freeway on the Gibbs Street Pedestrian Bridge over I-5.
Detour: Motorists traveling on I-5 southbound will take the Fremont Bridge to Interstate 405 south to the I-5 southbound off-ramp.
