MEDFORD - Travelers in southwest Oregon should watch for downed branches, trees, power lines and other road hazards today as a storm system moves through the area. Strong winds and heavy rain are predicted from the coast to the cascades.
Our crews have already responded to several downed branches and trees on highways, including OR 46, 99, 199, 238 and 260. Many county-owned roads have similar hazards, including downed power lines.
Slow down and stay alert to give yourself extra time to react to debris on the road.
ODOT, county and utility crews are working together to remove road hazards, but the widespread storm could mean longer response times. Closure times may be hard to predict as conditions change.
