Welcome to the Construction Training and Certification newsletter. In this issue, we will provide you with important information, updates, and resources that will help you plan for needed training and certification in the 2022-2023 training season.

 


2022-2023  ODOT Construction Training Schedule


Important Announcements

The ADA Curb Ramp Inspector and Contractor Certification training and exam will be offline as of December due to updates and maintenance. The updated 2023 training and exam are anticipated to be online in Feb 2023 and the first Field Exam offered at the end of February.

The Certified Traffic Signal Inspector training and exam will be offline for the month of January due to updates and maintenance. The updated 2023 online training, exam and course materials will be made available on February 1, 2023.

Registration is now open for the January 18 Inspector Workshop at the Chemeketa Center for Business Industry in Salem. This course is designed for individuals who are responsible for or involved in inspecting during construction. The primary audience is ODOT Inspectors and individuals with equivalent positions in the local agency and contractor community.

Don’t miss the AGC | ODOT Annual Meeting on Friday, February 3 at the Salem Convention Center. ODOT, Local Agencies, Consultants and FHWA please register on Workday. AGC Members, Contractors and Subcontractors, please register through AGC.

The ODOT Statewide Resident Engineer Annual Meeting (ODOT only) will take place on Thursday, February 2 at the Keizer Community Center. This meeting is for ODOT Resident Engineers, Consultant Resident Engineers, Assistant Resident Engineers, Construction Specialists, Contract Administration and FHWA representatives. Please register on Workday now.

Challenge Exams

Monthly inspector certification challenge events will be offered at the ODOT Salem Materials Lab. To register for a future challenge event, please complete the ODOT Inspector Challenge Exam Request Form. For electronic study materials, go to the Inspector Certification webpage and select the specific course for links to the class materials.

Plan Reading Series (1 hour) - New to Construction? Go through the first module prior to an inspector training course. You can familiarize yourself with the basics of plan reading.

Math Module - If it has been a while since your last math class, this is useful as background for all of the certification courses.

After you establish your account and go to sign in, you will need to choose "Sign in using a Personal Device".

How do I get a copy of my historical iLearn Transcript?

If you need your iLearn Transcript and were unable to print it out prior to June 15, 2021, you may request a copy through DAS here. (Click on iLearn Transcript Request Form)

Construction Materials Technician Training

Construction material technician training will be administered through our Industry Partners: Asphalt Pavement Association of Oregon, American Concrete Institute of Oregon and Oregon Concrete and Aggregate Producers Association.
