CENTRAL POINT – Oregon 140 east of Interstate 5 will close to all traffic from Dean Creek Road north to the Blackwell Road Gold Hill turnoff Friday, September 23 at 6 p.m. until Monday morning at 6 a.m. for road construction.

This is the third and last full weekend closure. Work scheduled includes tying driveways into the new road alignment and final paving of the project area. Local residents will be allowed into the work zone.

The signed detour route for traffic coming from the east will include Oregon 62 to the Rogue Valley Expressway to Interstate 5 Exit 30 (Medford).  Some traffic may elect to use either Blackwell Road from I-5 (Exit 43) Gold Hill or Table Rock/Antelope Roads depending on destination.

This $10 million project, scheduled for completion this fall, improves the existing narrow roadway with two travel lanes and a center turn lane. Shoulders will be eight feet wide and a new 10 foot multi-use path from Dean Creek Road to the bike tunnel will traverse the east side of the road.
