Ramp Closure & 14' Width Restriction – I-84 EB Exit 7 off-ramp to Halsey St

PORTLAND – Beginning September 8, the I-84 eastbound Exit 7 off-ramp to Halsey Street will be closed at night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. This closure is necessary to prep bridge caps for girder placement The estimated completion date for this work is September 11. 

Then beginning September 18, the I-84 eastbound Exit 7 off-ramp to Halsey Street will be restricted to 14 feet 00 inches in width at all hours. This restriction is necessary for setting girders over for new LRT overcrossing.

Reminder: Beginning Friday, September 23, 2022, this section of I-84 eastbound and westbound will be closed for the weekend starting at 10:00 p.m. and re-opening on Monday September 26, at 4:00 a.m. The closure is necessary for the steel girder erection of the new LRT overcrossing bridge.

All work is associated with the TriMet Red Line Extension Reliability Improvement project. 

Detour

When the I-84 eastbound Exit 7 off-ramp to Halsey Street is closed, traffic can take
Exit 6 to city streets back to Halsey Street.
