In observance of Labor Day, Sept. 5, the Oregon Department of Transportation's Commerce and Compliance Division (CCD) offices will be closed.
However, the ODOT Commerce and Compliance Registration Service Call Center (503-378-6699) will be available (5 a.m. to midnight) to offer basic registration services on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5, such as temporary passes and trip permits. The Service Center will have limited staff, so callers should expect longer wait times. Carriers with established CCD Accounts and approved for Oregon Trucking Online may obtain credentials online at www.oregontruckingonline.com.
Below are the travel restrictions over the holiday weekend for over-dimension loads:
Non-divisible loads (including mobile homes and modular units) cannot be moved if over 8 feet 6 inches in width from noon Friday, Sept. 2, until one half hour before sunrise, Tuesday, Sept. 6.
Exception: When the overall width does not exceed 14 feet, movement is allowed on all Interstate highways, U.S. 97 and any route east of U.S. 97 shown in black on Route Map 6 (for mobile /modular units) or Route Map 9 (for other Non-divisible loads) on Saturday, Sept. 3, and Sunday, Sept. 4. However, no movement is allowed on Friday, Sept. 2, after noon, or all day Monday, Sept. 5.
See Special Transportation Permit Attachment H and Route Map 2 for authorized dimensions and travel hours at night during the holiday weekend.
Triple trailer combinations cannot operate on those routes shown as Holiday or Holiday and Weekend restricted on Route Map 5 from 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2 until sunrise Tuesday, Sept. 6.
Towed units cannot be moved if over 8 feet, 6 inches in width or towing a combination of vehicles from 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, until one half hour before sunrise Tuesday, Sept. 6.
Exception: This rule does not apply when the tow vehicle is performing the initial emergency removal of a disabled unit from the highway or when the disabled vehicle or combination of vehicles is operating under a rule or variance permit allowing movement prior to the emergency. See Special Transportation Attachment H for specific hauling hours and days for overwidth movements.
Long logs, poles, and pilings cannot be moved if more than 105 feet in overall combination length from 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2 until sunrise Tuesday, Sept. 6.
In addition, beginning Saturday, Sept. 10, the summer weekend daytime hauling restrictions for overwidth loads are lifted until next year (with the exception for the major holiday weekends). These restrictions won’t be in effect again until after Memorial Day next year.
