Multiple Highway and Ramp Closures in the Portland Area for Providence Bridge Pedal

PORTLAND - On Sunday, August 14, the annual Providence Bridge Pedal will require the closure of multiple highways, bridges and ramps in the Portland area. The event is anticipated to start at 4 a.m. and be over by 1 p.m.

HIGHWAY CLOSURES
The following highways in the Portland area will be CLOSED during specified hours:

  • I-405 southbound between MP 4.20 and MP 3.20 (Top deck of the Fremont Bridge) closed between the hours of 4 a.m. and 12 noon.
  • I-405 southbound between MP 3.20 and MP 0.77 (Fremont Bridge south to the Marquam Bridge) closed between the hours of 4 a.m. and 11 a.m.
  • I-5 northbound between MP 300.26 and MP 300.36 (Top deck of the Marquam Bridge) closed between the hours of 4 a.m. and 11 a.m.
  • US26 westbound between MP 0.94 and MP 0.59 (Ross Island Bridge) closed between the hours of 4 a.m. and 11 a.m.

RAMP CLOSURES
The following ramps in the Portland area will be CLOSED during specified hours:

  • Ramp from US26 eastbound to I-405 southbound, closed between the hours of 4 a.m. and 11 a.m.
  • Ramp from NW Couch Street and NW 16th Avenue to I-405 southbound, closed between the hours of 4 a.m. and 11 a.m.
  • Ramp from NW Taylor Street and SW 13th Avenue to I-405 southbound, closed between the hours of 4 a.m. and 11 a.m.
  • Ramp from Montgomery Street and SW 13th Avenue to I-405 southbound, closed between the hours of 4 a.m. and 11 a.m.
  • Ramp from SW 5th Avenue to I-405 southbound, closed between the hours of 4 a.m. and 11 a.m.
  • Ramp from SW Broadway to I-405 southbound, closed between the hours of 4 a.m. and 11 a.m.
  • Ramp from OR99E/Woodward Street to US26 (Ross Island Bridge) westbound, closed between the hours of 4 a.m. and 11 a.m.
  • Ramp from OR43 northbound (Macadam Ave) to I-5 northbound, closed between the hours of 4 a.m. and 11 a.m.
  • Ramp from I-5 northbound and southbound to I-405 southbound, closed between the hours of 4 a.m. and 12 noon
  • Ramp from NE Broadway to I-5 northbound, closed between the hours of 4 a.m. and 12 noon
  • Ramp from N Cook Street and N Kerby Avenue to I-405 southbound, closed between the hours of 4 a.m. and 12 noon (traffic on the ramp from I-405 northbound to N Kerby Avenue will only be allowed to turn right)

EXPECTED DELAY AND CONGESTION
The following state highways in the Portland area are also part of the bicycle route, however, will remain open during the event. Motorists should expected additional delay and/or congestion:

  • OR43 northbound north of SW Bancroft Street
  • OR99E southbound (SE McLoughlin Boulevard) from SE Ivon Street to SE Milwaukie Avenue

There are no local detours available. Motor carriers will need to avoid traveling through these areas during the restricted days/hours; be prepared for significant congestion and delay; or use authorized alternate routes.
