Travelers should expect delays up to 20 minutes
Travelers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes on OR 200 Territorial Highway south of Monroe as crews chip seal pave between milepost 0 - 2, beginning July 5. Flaggers and pilot cars will direct single lane traffic through the work zone. Work is scheduled from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day and is to be completed on Friday, July 8.
A layer of asphalt with embedded sand and gravel, known as chip sealing, will be applied to the top of the existing pavement throughout the project area. Plan extra travel time and slow down. Crews will sweep the road, but expect some loose rock to be present for several days.
Bicycle riders should be prepared for traveling on rock chip covered sections behind a pilot car with no usable shoulders.
Where traffic is routed through or around a work zone, pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will also be provided routes through or around the work zone.
