Susan Peithman Picture

Effective April 4, 2022, Susan Peithman has accepted a permanent position as the Policy and Implementation Manager with the ODOT Public Transportation Division.

Susan has been with ODOT since 2016 holding positions as the Active Transportation Policy Lead and the Strategic Investments Manager where she focused on public and active transportation investment strategy.

Susan has over seventeen years of experience working on transportation issues that support walking, biking and public transportation access. Her career includes positions at the City of Chicago, Alta Planning + Design, Bicycle Transportation Alliance (now The Street Trust), Transportation Research and Education Center at Portland State University, and ODOT. Her professional experience ranges from designing and implementing programs that encourage people to walk, bike and use transit more often – to policy and legislation that supports healthy and active communities – to management of large federal grants that fund research on livable communities.  Susan also served as the vice-chair of the Oregon Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee from 2013 until 2016. She also holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry from the University of Illinois, Chicago.

In support of work life balance, Susan spends as much time outside as she can. Susan lives in Corvallis with her husband and young son. She enjoys trail running, hiking, mountain biking and gardening.

Please join us in congratulating Susan on her promotion!
