Construction Starting on the Aurora-Donald Interchange Project This Week!
Phase 1A Construction Map.
Phase 1A Work Starts this Week
We're staring construction on Phase 1A of the Aurora-Donald Interchange Project.
For Phase 1A we are:
-
Lengthening and widening the northbound off-ramp.
-
Building a retaining wall and noise wall.
-
Realigning Bents Road to align with Bents Court at the existing Ehlen Road.
-
Installing a signal at the new Bents Road intersection with Ehlen Road.
Work is starting this week on the northbound side of I-5 at the off-ramp.
Here's what you can expect:
-
Monday: you'll see crews setting up traffic control, but we don't anticipate lane closures or impacts to traffic.
-
Tuesday: we'll start removing the existing rumble strips on I-5. Expect to see our crews working from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., with one lane closed on I-5 and noise from our machines grinding out the rumble strips.
-
Wednesday: we'll start applying temporary striping for traffic to shift. Expect to see our crews working from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. with one to two lanes closed at a time.
-
Thursday - Saturday: you'll see our crews working, but we don't anticipate lane closures or impacts to traffic.
