Welcome to our first construction e-newsletter for the OR 217 Auxiliary Lanes Project.
We're excited to get started on these important safety and reliability improvements on the highway and surrounding streets. This month, you will start seeing activity and construction.

How to stay connected and up to date on project progress.
Keep reading these emails to stay current on traffic impacts. You can expect them in you inbox several times a month with detailed information about upcoming traffic and construction impacts on OR 217.
Join us for a webinar where you can learn more about this project and expected construction impacts, as well as have an opportunity to ask the project team questions. The webinar will also be available in Spanish through live interpretation.
If you miss the December 15 webinar, there is a second webinar on January 11, 2022 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Webinar details and links are on the project website. The same information will be covered at both webinars.

What you can expect during construction
During construction, work will happen in different geographic areas depending on the project phase. We’ll do our best to minimize impacts because we know construction can be disruptive. Use the project website and these e-newsletters as resources to find out where work is happening. With some patience, we’ll all benefit from a safer and more reliable highway once this project is complete.
Over the course of this four-year project expect the following kinds of travel disruptions:
For drivers
- Highway lane closures.
- Ramp closures.
- Local road impacts, including an up to 9-month closure of SW Hall Boulevard over OR 217 (in Tigard near OR 99W).
For people walking, biking, rolling and taking transit
- Sidewalk, bike lane, and shoulder closures.
- Short-term impacts to bus stops and routes.
For nearby residents and businesses
- Construction noise and vibrations.
- Lighting from construction zones.
Visit the online open house for more information about these impacts.

We’ll share more detailed construction information on our website and through email notifications as the project moves forward. For major closures, we will also share information more widely through media and advertising.
