CASCADE LOCKS -- On Monday, Sept. 27, the Bridge of the Gods across the Columbia River will be restricted to loads no heavier than 11 tons, 22,000 pounds gross vehicle weight.

The restriction will be in place while crews strengthen the bridge, U.S. 30, to comply with new requirements. The work is scheduled to conclude by Oct. 31 when the standard load limit of 40 tons will return.

The nearest Columbia River crossings are the Glenn Jackson Bridge, Interstate 205 in Portland, or the Hood River-White Salmon Bridge in Hood River.

ODOT supports this work as part of our efforts to preserve and maintain a safe multimodal transportation system, as found in our Strategic Action Plan.

The Bridge of the Gods, owned by the Port of Cascade Locks, connects Interstate 84 in Oregon with State Route 14 across the Columbia River in Washington.
