Our Interstate Bridge Replacement Program is hiring!

We are recruiting for a cultural resources lead to join our Interstate Bridge Replacement Program team! In this role, you will coordinate all cultural resources work for the program and act as the regulatory compliance expert on cultural resources issues.

Key duties include Section 106 responsibilities and working with the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), the Washington Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation (DAHP) and other agencies and Tribes. You will develop program policy and procedures, review documents and deliverables, negotiate project agreements, oversee consultant work and coordinate a cultural resources workgroup.

The Interstate Bridge Replacement Program is a multimodal megaproject jointly led by the State of Oregon and the State of Washington to address regional highway problems facing the I-5 highway system crossing over the Columbia River between Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington. We are working together with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) to develop solutions for seismic resiliency, safety improvements, congestion reduction, reliable transit, active transportation and reliable movement of freight.

The person in this position will be a State of Oregon employee. This position is based in Portland, Oregon, and the work location will be at our shared office, when established, in Vancouver, Washington.

This limited duration project position is expected to end on or before two years from hire. This position has the potential to become permanent or be extended to meet the needs of the project. Limited duration appointments are benefits eligible and have a designated maximum length of service per contract requirements.

We may also fill this position as a rotational assignment open to current state of Oregon employees. Rotation candidates are required to meet the position’s minimum qualifications.
