The Oregon Department of Transportation is committed to providing a safe and efficient transportation system. The following roadway improvement projects are located in ODOT Region 2, Area/District 4: Linn, Benton, Lincoln and Polk counties.

 

RESCHEDULED TO 2022: OR 34 Matlby Creek Bridge (mp 35.6)

Project Description: The timber deck on the bridge is being replaced.

Traffic Impacts: Road closure will occur in 2022. Materials were not delivered in time to complete the project this year.

OR99W: Corvallis Stormwater System Project

Project Description:  Replace stormwater system along OR 99W (4th Street) in Corvallis. The project will replace existing stormwater pipes and inlets and install stormwater quality treatment facilities. Additionally the project will pave the stormwater trenches.

Traffic Impacts: None at this time. Construction estimated to start August 2021. During construction most work will be scheduled at night. Lane closures from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.

U.S. 20: Knox Butte and OR 226

Project Description: The project will construct safety improvements including high visibility signage, flashing warning beacons, concrete islands, and new roadway striping. U.S. 20 between Knox Butte and OR 226 will also be repaved.

Traffic Impacts: None at this time. Construction estimated to start September 2021. During construction most work will be scheduled at night. Lane closures 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Businesses and residences within the work zone will have access during construction.

Chip Seal Projects: Various roads

Project Description: Chip sealing roads prolongs the service life. A sealant is applied to help keep the rock in place.

Traffic Impacts: Expect delays and watch for flaggers. Anticipate loose rock.

U.S. 101: Devil’s Lake Outlet, Schooner Creek and Siltcoos River Bridges

Project Description: This project is repairing and installing corrosion protection on three bridges.

Traffic Impacts: Closures and work are weather dependent.

Devil’s Lake Outlet: All sidewalks are open. Minor work is taking place under the bridge. No delays are expected.

Schooner Creek Bridge: The eastern bridge rail and portions of the sidewalk are being removed, and new sidewalk and rail will be installed in several phases. The eastern sidewalk is closed while the bridge rail is replaced. Night work with flaggers controlling traffic. Expect minor delays.

Siltcoos River Bridge: Concrete repair and reinforcement work is underway under the bridge. The east rail is under construction. There may be night work with intermittent lane closures. Flaggers will control traffic. Expect minor delays.

U.S. 101: SE 32nd St – SE 35th St (Newport)

Project Description: This project will improve travel south of the Yaquina Bay Bridge for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Work includes relocating a traffic signal, improving connections, installing stormwater treatment facilities, installing new illumination, and installing new sidewalks and ADA ramps.

Traffic Impacts:  Expect one lane of travel in each direction, and minor congestion during peak travel hours. Work continues on SE 35th Street, the new sidewalks along U.S. 101, at the intersection of SE 35th and U.S. 101, and at SE 32nd and U.S. 101. SE 35th St is now open to traffic. Expect traffic shifts and minor congestion.

U.S. 101 Culvert Repairs

Project Description: Install pipe liners in 15 culverts on U.S.101 between milepost 151 and milepost 153, south of Seal Rock.  

Traffic Impacts:  Expect lane closures and slight delays during daylight hours.

Yaquina Bay Bridge (Newport)

Project Description: This four year project is replacing the existing corrosion protection system on the bridge and making seismic upgrades.

Traffic Impacts: Most work will take place under the bridge with little impact to traffic. Occasional night lane closures are needed to set up scaffolding and move equipment. The eastern sidewalk will be closed for the duration of the project in the near future. A pedestrian detour is in place at the south end of the bridge.

I-5: Culvert Repair between Woodburn and Goshen

Project Description: This project repairs or replaces 17 culverts along I-5 that are in poor or critical condition between milepost 189 and milepost 268. Work continues between milepost 212 to 267.

Traffic Impacts: Expect daytime inside and outside shoulder closures Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional nighttime lane closures. Work is expected to be completed in July 2021.

OR 99W Curb Ramp Project – SE Chapman Place to SW McKenzie Ave (Corvallis)

Project Description: This project has completed the construction of new ADA ramps at 17 existing street corners in South Corvallis. Construction at an additional 35 locations are planned for completion by late September 2021. ​

Traffic Impacts: Outside lane closures may occur as needed on OR 99W between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Expect delays Monday through Friday. Early morning work hours and outside lane closures occur between 5:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. northbound, and 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. southbound.
