Eagle Point: expect commute changes next three weeks

EAGLE POINT— Local commuters should expect short delays entering Eagle Point the next three weeks due to construction on crosswalk curb ramps.

Crystal Drive, Nita Way and the south end of Old Oregon Highway 62 will each be closed for one week where they meet Oregon 62. These closures will allow crews to safely build crosswalk curb ramps that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The three east side of the intersection closures are scheduled to begin one week apart:

  • July 18: Crystal Drive intersection
  • July 25: Nita Way intersection
  • August 1: Old Oregon Hwy. 62. signalized intersection

Local detours will be in place. Drivers should look for signs and expect delays.

ODOT is constructing hundreds of curb ramps in Jackson and Josephine Counties, as well as across the state, to meet requirements with the Americans with Disability Act.
