PORTLAND:
Full Closure: Beginning Friday, August 13, 2021, I-84 eastbound and westbound between MP 0.00 (I-5) and MP 5.17 (I-205) will be closed all weekend, Friday at 10 p.m. through Monday at 5 a.m.
Ramp Closures: Beginning Friday, August 13, 2021, the following ramp closures will be closed all weekend, Friday at 10 p.m. through Monday at 5 a.m.:
- I-84 EB on-ramp from the Morrison St Bridge
- I-84 WB on-ramps from NE 33rd Ave & Sandy Blvd
- I-84 WB on-ramps from NE Glisan St/NE 58th Ave
- I-84 WB on-ramp from NE Halsey St/NE 82nd Ave/OR213
- I-84 WB on-ramp from 102nd Ave
- I-205 NB & SB Exit 21B off-ramps to I-84 WB
- I-5 NB & SB Exit 300 & 301 off-ramps to I-84 EB
- I-84 EB on-ramp from Grande Ave/OR99E *note this ramp will be closed beginning Thursday January 8 through Monday at 5 AM
The estimated completion date for this project is August 16, 2021. The closures are necessary for the launch of the new pedestrian bridge on I-84.
Detour
When I-84 eastbound and westbound between MP 0.00 (I-5) and MP 5.17 (I-205) is closed, motor carriers can use alternate routes such as I-205 to either US30 Bypass, US26, or I-5.
When the above ramps are closed, there will be no local detours available. Motor carriers will need to avoid traveling through this area during the restricted days/hours, or use authorized alternate routes.
