ODOT PROJECT UPDATE

Hazard tree work begins today in Thielsen Fire area of Oregon 138E

June 7, 2021

DIAMOND LAKE – Hazard tree cutting and removal work is scheduled to begin in the Thielsen Fire area of Oregon 138E (North Umpqua Highway) on Monday, June 7.

Work will begin around milepost 76 (Thielsen Creek) and move east toward milepost 80 (Diamond Lake). Motorists should expect lane closures with flaggers and delays Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The tree removal work in the Thielsen Fire area is expected to continue through the end of July.

Archie Creek Fire area

Watch for intermittent lane closures and delays this week on Oregon 138E around milepost 25-26, about eight miles east of Glide. Flaggers will provide traffic control.

Motorists can expect additional delays through the Archie Creek Fire area this summer. Full tree-cutting operations are scheduled to start in the middle of June, which will likely lead to significant delays related to multiple work zones between Idleyld and Steamboat (milepost 21-38).

Motorists may encounter additional lane closures and delays along the Oregon 138E corridor this summer due to work related to other agencies or utilities.
