2021 Construction Update |
|
|
|
The work in Lafayette is scheduled to begin the week of June 7 and continue through the summer. We will be doing a full reconstruction of the road through downtown. This mean digging up and replacing the road foundation, not just the top layer of pavement. Expect delays, noise and lane closures as this work is being done.
The current plan is to construct the work in three sections, but we are looking into an option to reduce this to two sections which would reduce the overall construction time.
What to expect:
- The road will be restricted to one lane controlled by flaggers, 24/7.
-
Access for pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will be available through or around the work zone. We will have pedestrian detours and signage in place.
- Work hours will be Monday 6 a.m. through Saturday morning 6 a.m.
-
Local traffic can use 2nd Street and 4th Street while we have lane closures on OR 99W.
-
Emergency vehicles will be able to use the OR 99W and Market Street intersection during construction.
The work in Lafayette is part of a larger project that is repairing and replacing poor pavement, installing signal enhancements, making pedestrian improvements and constructing ADA curb ramps between McDougall Junction to McDonald Way in McMinnville.
