Civil Rights Training for Certified Local Public Agencies, ODOT Office of Civil Rights

April 5 and 19: Hybrid Live and Pre-recorded Online Webinars; 1:00 - 2:30 pm

Save the dates! Join us for Civil Rights Training for Certified Local Public Agencies, presented by ODOT Office of Civil Rights and Certification Program Office.

This year, the training will consist of a live opening session on April 5, 1-2:30pm and a live closing session on April 19, 1-2:30pm. In between the live sessions, participants will be guided to view several pre-recorded modules covering topics such as pre-construction and work plans, Title VI, goal requests and contract administration of the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program and more. The modules can be taken in any order and are self-paced. The live interactive opening session will provide a framework for the concepts addressed in the modules. The live interactive closing session will wrap up the concepts and provide an opportunity to take a deeper dive on any questions you have on the material.

We hope you will join us on April 5 and April 19, 2021. Registration details are forthcoming.

Save the Date! CUG Spring Training on ADA and Temporary Pedestrian Access Routes (TPAR)

April 22: Online Webinar; Morning

Save the date for the CUG Spring Training on ADA and TPAR! The training will provide an overview of when and how ADA and CLPAs intersect on federal-aid projects and dive into ADA ramp and TPAR design and construction issues, illustrated by examples from CLPAs and with time for questions and discussion. We hope you'll be able to join us online on the morning of April 22, 2021.

Registration for the Spring Training will open on March 22. Keep an eye out for the upcoming email with registration details, and we hope to see you on April 22.

Save the Date! CUG Summer Work Session

July 14 and 15: Planned Virtual Session

The CUG Summer Work Session is a great opportunity to connect, network, learn about policy changes and other news important to CUG members. Given the uncertainties of Covid-19 restrictions, we are planning for a virtual Summer Work Session. The Summer Work Session will take place on July 14 and 15, 2021. On July 14, we will hold a “First Timer’s Orientation” and subcommittee meetings. On July 15, we will hold a general work session in the morning. Watch for registration details coming in April 2021.

There’s a lot to know and remember when working on a federal-aid project! The Federal Highway Administration has compiled a library of over 100 on-demand training videos for federal-aid local transportation projects. Periodically, the ODOT Certification Program will recommend a topic and related resources for a quick self-guided training.
