The Oregon Department of Transportation is committed to providing a safe and efficient transportation system. The following roadway improvement projects are located in ODOT Region 2, Area/District 5: Lane County.

 

OR 126: McKenzie Highway wildfire recovery work

Project Description: Recovery work continues on OR 126 McKenzie Highway between mp 27.5 and 38 removing hazard trees, stabilizing slopes, and removing debris from ditches and shoulders.

Traffic Impacts: Expect multiple work zones with lengthy delays. Many hazards remain. Take alternate routes for through travel if possible. There is a 45 mph speed limit from Vida to Finn Rock. Do not park on the shoulders. Work is expected to continue through summer 2021.

OR 569: Beltline/Delta Interchange Project (Eugene)

Project Description: This project reconfigures the intersection to improve safety and traffic flow.

Traffic Impacts:  Most work affecting traffic occurs at nights and on weekends, including ramp closures and detours.

U.S. 101: Cape Creek Bridge (North of Florence)

Project Description: A new corrosion protection system is being installed, along with bridge repairs.

Traffic Impacts: Minimal impacts as crews finishing up installing corrosion protection system under the bridge.

U.S. 101: Cape Perpetua Half Viaduct (South of Yachats)

Project Description: A new corrosion protection system is being installed, including installing a wind turbine generator under the bridge to power the system.

Traffic Impacts: Minimal impacts as crews are waiting on materials to finish the installation of the turbine system under the bridge.

OR 126: Willamette River Bridge Repair

Project Description: OR 126 Willamette River Bridge westbound from Springfield to Eugene is being repaired and having a new paint coating applied.

Traffic Impacts: Single lane closures, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., will be in place on the bridge until March.

U.S. 101: Munsel Lake Rd to OR126, Curb Ramps (Florence)

Project Description: This project will rebuild approximately 102 existing street corners, including flashing beacon crossings, along U.S. 101 in Florence from 10th Street to Munsel Lake Road. ​

Traffic Impacts: There will be lane closures, expect delays. Work will occur one direction of the highway at a time, northbound or southbound U.S. 101. Work may be done during the day or at night depending on the traffic and can occur between Sunday 6 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m.

OR 126: Florence – Eugene Shoulder Widening Project

Project Description: Construction work on OR 126 between mp 36 and 36.7. This project will widen the shoulders to 4 feet on each side, with guardrail and concrete barrier installed on the downhill side.   

Traffic Impacts: Passing lane closure during daylight hours next week for tree cutting.  Tree cutting / timber falling will occur over the next couple weeks and construction is scheduled to begin in April.

U.S. 101: Devil’s Lake Outlet, Schooner Creek and Siltcoos River Bridges

Project Description: This project will repair and install corrosion protection on the three bridges.

Traffic Impacts: Closures and work are weather dependent.

Siltcoos River Bridge: Concrete repair and reinforcement work is underway under the bridge.  The bridge is one lane with traffic being controlled by a temporary traffic signal. The contactor is grinding  asphalt off the deck Monday, Feb 8. Flaggers will control traffic. The east railing will be removed.
