ADA Self Guided Training

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, ODOT had to evaluate the safety and adjust for the environment of in-person Construction inspector certification training, workshops, and forums in the 2020-2021 season. This webinar is intended for brand new inspectors. If you have been previously certified, you only need to take the exam. You can find the most current schedule and exam information on our website.

Fundamentals of Procurement
February 2 and 11, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm; iLearn Webinar
This interactive class will focus on procuring goods and services costing over $10,000 and below $150,000, with emphasis on statutory requirements and industry standards. Topics related to purchasing practices such as market research and negotiations will also be discussed.

Asphalt Concrete Pavement Inspector Training
February 17: Chemeketa Comm. College, Salem; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
The goal of this course is to provide inspectors with practical knowledge and standard industry practices for conducting inspections. This course will equip ACP inspectors to exercise their responsibility in verifying compliance with project requirements, as well as ODOT and/or federal mandates. This certification is valid for five years. This course is part of ODOT’s strategy to improve statewide consistency in carrying out Oregon’s highway construction program. This course provides a basis for taking the ACP certification inspector exam which will be administered on the final day of the course. After passing the exam, the participant will be certified by the ODOT Construction Section.

AGC/ODOT Virtual Annual Meeting
February 19: Online Microsoft Teams Meeting; 9:00 - 11:00 am
Please join us for the AGC | ODOT Virtual Annual Meeting Friday, February 19, 2021 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Associated General Contractors and Oregon Department of Transportation are jointly hosting this virtual meeting for staff involved in construction project delivery. This event will include updates from ODOT's leadership as well as the Agency's financial forecast and project delivery outlook.
The audience will include the Construction Contractor and Subcontractor community, Statewide Project Delivery Branch representatives, ODOT Resident Engineers, Consultant Resident Engineers, Project Leaders, Assistant Project Managers, Local Public Agency Liaisons, ODOT Office of Civil Rights, ODOT Construction Procurement Office and Federal Highway Administration.
This Virtual Meeting will be conducted as an MS TEAMs Live Event, for which a calendar invite and link will be automatically sent after you register through iLearn. We will also forward the meeting link the week before the meeting for you to insert into your calendar. You may also access the link directly through iLearn, on the day of the event, using the Launch button.

There’s a lot to know and remember when working on a federal-aid project! The Federal Highway Administration has compiled a library of over 100 on-demand training videos for federal-aid local transportation projects. Periodically, the ODOT Certification Program will recommend a topic and related resources for a quick self-guided training.
