Eastern Oregon Highways Construction Update Report

LA GRANDE – Winter is here and nearly all highway construction projects are completed or shut down for the season. The few projects still active include:

• Multiple safety enhancements between Pendleton and La Grande on I-84, milepost 214-260.
• Safety improvements in Ladd Canyon on I-84, milepost 270-273.
• U.S. 730 Columbia River Highway in downtown Umatilla.
• OR 37 Cold Spring RR Bridge repair, milepost 1.
• SE 2nd Street in Ontario.

These currently have minimal to no traffic impacts and will close down within the next couple of weeks, or when weather prevents work from continuing.

Please watch out for these crews, plus other maintenance operations that may be active throughout eastern Oregon. This includes winter maintenance activities, such as clearing snow and ice off the highways when storm events roll through.

Where traffic is routed through or around a work zone, pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will also be provided routes through or around the work zone.
