Beltline/Delta Interchange Project

November Lane and Ramp Closures

Expect Increased Traffic

ODOT has been working to address the interchange’s outdated design with mobility and safety improvements. In order to keep on schedule, budget, and make as much progress possible before the needed winter rains arrive, the project requires nighttime and daytime lane and ramp closures.

We anticipate temporary increased traffic congestion during these periods.

The four pending closures are:

Weekend Nighttime Closures on Delta Highway

Beginning Friday, October 30 (7 p.m.) to Saturday, October 31 (6 a.m.) crews will close the outside Delta northbound travel lane to complete shoulder widening work. Beginning Sunday, November 1 (10 p.m.) to Monday, November 2 (6 a.m.) crews require complete nighttime closure of Delta Highway just south of Beltline Highway to perform temporary paving. Concurrently, three Beltline/Delta Interchange ramps also necessitate closing (Beltline eastbound to Delta northbound, Delta southbound to Beltline eastbound, and Delta northbound to Beltline westbound).

Detour signs will guide travelers.

10-Day West side Lane Reductions and Crossover: Delta Highway

Beginning Tuesday, November 3 (8 p.m.) crews will close the outside Delta northbound travel lane and begin work to shift traffic to the east side to build up the roadway for the future new intersection. At 9 p.m., crews require complete closure of northbound and southbound lanes just south of Beltline to complete the shift of traffic lanes to the highway’s east side, providing one travel lane in each direction. The roadway will reopen to traffic at 5 a.m. with this single lane crossover configuration. This new layout will remain in place until November 13 (10 p.m.). Expect increased traffic.

12-Day East side Lane Reductions and Crossover: Delta Highway Beginning Friday, November 13 (10 p.m.) to Wednesday, November 25 (6 a.m.) all northbound and southbound traffic will shift over to the west side on Delta Highway with one lane in each direction for crews to finish the roadway build up for the future new intersection. Expect increased traffic.

3-Day Weekend Ramp Closure Beltline Highway to Delta Highway

Also on Friday, November 13 (10 p.m.) until Monday, November 16 (6 a.m.) crews require closure of the eastbound Beltline Highway ramp to northbound Delta Highway to build up the roadway to match the new section on Delta Highway. Detour signs will guide travelers.

Please note: All schedules are weather dependent and may shift based on forecasts.

This weekend (10/30) – through late November (11/25) – work is weather dependent and dates may shift due to forecast

Friday, October 30 & Sunday, November 1 (Night Work)

Delta Highway northbound will have the outside travel lane closed starting at 7 p.m., just south of the existing bridge at Beltline on Friday (10/30), to complete shoulder widening work. From 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday (10/30) and on 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday (11/1), Delta Highway northbound and southbound lanes will be closed (M.P. 0.30 to M.P. 0.33) as crews perform temporary paving to prepare for raising the highway road grade in preparation for the new intersection, which will be added on Delta Highway. Three (3) ramps will also be closed at the interchange during the Delta Highway northbound and southbound closures: Beltline eastbound (EB) to Delta northbound (NB), Delta southbound (SB) to Beltline EB, and Delta NB to Beltline westbound (WB).

Traffic will be detoured around the closure using Beltline Highway. Delta NB traffic will utilize Beltline EB to Coburg Rd to take Beltline WB to Delta NB. Delta SB traffic will take Green Acres to Beltline WB to River Rd to take Beltline EB to Delta SB. Ramp closures will use similar detours to reroute traffic.

(NOTE: Crews will not be working Halloween night (10/31).

Tuesday, November 3, 8 p.m. until Friday, November 13, 10 p.m. – Single Lane Crossover on Delta Highway NB & SB (24/7)

Starting November 3 (11/3) at 8 p.m., Delta Highway northbound outside lane will be closed for crews to begin striping layout for the crossover configuration. From 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., northbound and southbound Delta Highway will be closed to prepare the highway for the Stage IV, Phase 5 single lane crossover configuration, which will feature all traffic pushed over to the east side of Delta Highway (M.P. 0.30 to M.P. 033) just south of Beltline highway leading up to the existing bridge. Traffic needs to be switched over to one side of the highway in order for the crews to build up the west side highway grade by approximately 4-ft for the new intersection, which will be added to Delta highway later next year. By 5 a.m. on Wednesday (11/4), traffic will be setup into single lane configurations on Delta Highway just south of the bridge over Beltline Hwy. It will remain in this layout until November 13, when crews will begin switching the crossover to the other side of Delta Hwy.

(NOTE: Crews will not be working until after the polls close on Tuesday, Nov. 3.)

Friday, November 13, 10 p.m. until Wednesday, November 25, 6 a.m. – Single Lane Crossover on Delta Highway NB & SB (24/7) and Weekend Ramp Closure

Starting November 13 (11/13) at 10 p.m., northbound and southbound Delta Highway will be transitioned to the Stage IV, Phase 6 single lane crossover configuration on the west side of Delta Highway (M.P. 0.30 to M.P. 033). This will allow crews to build up the highway grade on the east side by approximately 4-ft for preparation of the new intersection.

The Beltline EB to Delta NB ramp will be closed 10 p.m. Friday, November 13 until 6 a.m. Monday, November 16. The ramp closure is needed to build up the grade on the ramp in order to match in with the new grade for Delta Highway. Traffic will be detoured along Beltline EB to Coburg Rd to take Beltline WB to Delta NB.
