UPDATE ON OVER-DIMENSION PERMIT OPERATIONS DURING CLOSURE

Due to poor air quality from the wildfires burning throughout Oregon, our Over-Dimension office continues to be closed, including our permit call center. For assistance with an over-dimension permit, please use the following information:

INFORMATION ON WILD FIRE RESPONSE

NEW 30-DAY OVER-DIMENSION EMERGENCY PERMIT

In response to the wildfires in Oregon, a new 30-day Over-Dimension emergency permit has been created to allow the movement of equipment needed to handle the fires and recovery efforts. The permit authorizes use of all Interstates and State highways. Multiple moves will be allowed on the permit. Highways under the jurisdiction of other road authorities, such as counties or cities, are not authorized on this permit.

This permit will be available through the Commerce and Compliance Division, Over-Dimension Permit Unit and will authorize the following dimensions, up to:

  • Height: 14’6”
  • Width: 12’ on state highways; 14’ on Interstates
  • Weight: 200,000 pounds, when hauling a single, non-divisible item. Not to exceed weights shown in Weight Table 4.

To obtain this permit, please fill out our 30-day permit request application and email it to mctdodleadership@odot.state.or.us . The 30-day Permit Application can be found on the CCD Wildfires website.

You may also contact the Over-Dimension Permit Unit at (503) 373-0000, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 7 AM & 5 PM Pacific Time. After hours, call (503) 931-1541. Please have the following information ready when you call:

  • CCD Account number and name
  • Contact name and phone number
  • Truck information (plate, jurisdiction, year, make, VIN)
  • Email address to send the permit and attachments

Once we complete your permit we will charge the $8 permit fee to your account.

Please note, this permit is unable to be issued via our website, and must be done over the phone or via email.


EMERGENCY ORDER GRANTING SUSPENSION OF CERTAIN MOTOR CARRIER REGULATIONS IN RESPONSE TO OREGON WILD FIRE ACTIVITIES:

If you are operating on legal axle weights up to 105,500 and do not already have an annual permit to operate on the interstate and state highways in Oregon, you can carry a copy of this declaration in your vehicle to move legally. Please note: you must comply with legal axle weights of 20,000 lbs. for single axle, and 34,000 lbs. for tandem axles, and other group axle weights as stated on weight Table 1 and Weight Table 2.
