Expect new travel lane routes this week
EUGENE — Travelers should expect traffic changes daily on Interstate 105 over the Willamette River Bridge. Travel lanes shift this week as construction nears completion.
All traffic is moving to the outer lanes. Crews will be working in the center lanes, preparing them to open. The move will take three nights to complete. Work occurs between 7 p.m. and 3:30 a.m. The road will remain open to traffic at all times. This schedule may change based on air quality conditions.
The eastbound lanes are complete. This is the last portion of the I-105 project.
The Interstate 105 (Washington/Jefferson Street Bridge) Bridge Preservation Project is bringing bridges and ramps between Delta Highway and downtown Eugene up to current standards. The bridges were built in the late 1960s and early 1970s and needed repair and upgrades. Work includes new guardrail, deck paving, seismic retrofits, joint replacements, and other repairs. The $18 million project began construction in fall 2018.
Where traffic is routed through or around a work zone, pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will also be provided routes through or around the work zone.
