Crews will install a new fish-friendly bridge as part of a series of improvements to OR 212
Aug. 6, 2020
BORING – OR 212 will close to all traffic for 12 days starting Monday Aug. 10 for installation of a new fish-friendly bridge over North Fork Deep Creek, which flows under OR 212 between Boring and U.S. 26.
The new bridge is part of a series of improvements along the highway between Interstate 205 and U.S. 26 through Boring and Damascus. The work includes paving and new ADA-compliant curbs at 26 intersections.
Travelers may have noticed the preparation work under way this week for construction of the new bridge, which has meant pile-driving and daytime closures on OR 212 lasting as long as 20 minutes.
During the 12-day closure, travelers should follow the signed detours in place.
Day and night lane closures will continue through the duration of the project, which is expected to conclude in 2021.
