SB lanes will remain open while crews make bridge improvements during the 30-day closure
Aug. 6, 2020
TUALATIN – Northbound OR 99W will be reduced to one lane over the Tualatin River for 30 days starting Monday Aug. 10 for bridge improvements.
One northbound lane will remain open at all times during the closure. The southbound lanes will remain open at all times during the project. After the 30-day lane closure, drivers should expect intermittent lane closures through the end of the year.
The work includes replacing the bridge joints and installing new concrete surfaces. These repairs will improve the condition of the bridge and maintain the long-term safety on this heavily traveled highway.
Bicyclists may travel in the lane of traffic through the work zone.
Detour signs will direct freight trucks to Tualatin Sherwood-Road and Roy Rogers Road to Scholls Ferry Road. Passenger vehicles can continue to use their regular routes but should expect delays.
The speed limit on OR 99W northbound across the bridge will be reduced from 45 MPH to 35 MPH during construction.
For more information, including maps, fact sheets and detour information, go to the project website.
The bridge was built in 1953 and today carries an average of 15,000 vehicles a day.
The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2020.
