The Oregon Department of Transportation is committed to providing a safe and efficient transportation system. The following roadway improvement projects are located in ODOT Region 2, Area/District 4: Linn, Benton, Lincoln and Polk counties.
U.S. 101: Devil’s Lake Outlet, Schooner Creek and Siltcoos River Bridges
Project Description: This project will repair and install corrosion protection on the three bridges.
Traffic Impacts: Closures and work are weather dependent.
Devil’s Lake Outlet: The western bridge rail is being replaced and the sidewalk is closed for the next several months. Work continues underneath the bridge and steel plates are being used to protect the work crew. Short-term closures are needed to move the steel plates as work progresses.
Schooner Creek Bridge: Expect lane closures at night beginning August 3 to prepare the deck for a concrete overlay. A platform is being installed under the bridge and damaged concrete sections are being repaired. The western sidewalk is closed while the contractor replaces the bridge rail. Expect minor delays.

Yaquina Bay Bridge (Newport)
Project Description: This project will replace two expansion joints on the north end of the bridge.
Traffic Impacts: Work will be at night, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday, Aug 5 and Thursday, Aug 6. Expect single lane traffic and minor delays.
Region 2 Centerline Rumble Strips
Project Description: Install centerline and shoulder rumble strips on numerous highways throughout Region 2.
Traffic Impacts: Work on OR 34 (MP 34.95- 56.28) continues. Once completed, work moves to OR 228 (MP 0.33 - 5.5) to finish out the week. Chip sealing over previously installed rumble strips on OR 211/214, OR 214, OR 51, and OR 223. Chip sealing will occur during the day and sweeping/clean-up will occur at night. Expect single lane closures and mobile work zones. Lane closure hours vary by location and traffic volumes. In general, rumble strip installation will take place at night and re-striping will occur during the day.

U.S. 101 / NE 60th Street Improvements (Newport)
Project Description: A right turn lane, bus pull-out, sidewalk and multi-use path are being built as part of a new apartment complex.
Traffic Impacts: Work during the day, Monday through Thursday, is not expected to cause travel delays. Watch for flaggers controlling traffic.
Additional lane closures may occur between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

I-5: North Albany – Halsey Pavement Preservation Project
Project Description: The project is repairing damaged concrete, removing outdated expansion joints, and grinding the concrete surface to eliminate ruts. The project is scheduled to be completed by June 30, 2021.
Traffic Impacts: Expect minor delays with nighttime lane closures in both the southbound and northbound directions between milepost 235 and milepost 216. Work is weather dependent.
Lane closures will typically run Sunday through Thursday nights from 7:30 p.m.to 5:30 a.m.

U.S. 20: Cox Creek – Reeves Parkway Paving Project
Project Description: The project repaves a section of U.S. 20 between Albany and Lebanon. In addition to the new pavement there will be new striping and centerline rumble strips installed. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the summer.
Traffic Impacts: Expect single lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic through the work zone. Some work will be done Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The majority of the work will be done nightly, Sunday night through Friday morning 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Expect delays and construction noise.

OR 99E: Birdfoot Dr. (Tangent) - Harrisburg
Project Description: The pavement on this section of OR 99E is in need of preservation work to avoid more costly maintenance in the future. This project will install a chip seal surface treatment to OR 99E from Birdfoot Drive in Tangent to Harrisburg.
Traffic Impacts: Expect single lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic through the work zone. Work will take place Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to early evening, Friday, 8 a.m. to noon. There will be no work on weekends. The hours will vary based on the road surface temperature. The road must be 70 degrees to begin work and crews can continue until three hours before sunset. Expect delays and construction noise. Work on removing existing striping continues on Monday, August 3rd, with chip seal work currently scheduled to begin Monday August 10.

U.S. 20/OR 34/ SW Philomath Blvd Overpass Bridge (Corvallis)
Project Description: Railroad overpass bridge near SW 7th Street is being repaired and paved.
Traffic Impacts: Lane closures and detours. Watch for crews and flaggers.
Work occurs Monday – Thursday, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. July 21 through August 5.
OR 99W (Corvallis)
Project Description: Overpass bridge overlay at NW Buchanan Ave, mp 82.
Traffic Impacts: Lane closures. Watch for crews.
Work occurs Monday – Friday, during the day. This work is weather dependent and schedules may vary.

OR 22 Three Rivers Highway (Dolph Junction)
Project Description: The road will be crack sealed between Dolph Junction and Valley Junction, mp 10.66 to 24. 97.
Traffic Impacts: Lane closures. Watch for crews and flaggers. Expect delays up to 20 minutes.
Work occurs Monday – Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Work is weather dependent and schedules may change.
Road repair
Project Description: Roads throughout the region will be repaired. Crews move daily.
Traffic Impacts: Lane closures. Watch for crews and flaggers.
