Slow down, stay alert and be prepared for work zones
ODOT Eastern Oregon construction update report
LA GRANDE –Our busy summer construction season continues in eastern Oregon with dozens of work zones throughout the region, including these three projects starting late July and early August that will result in traffic delays and a temporary road closure. • We are replacing a culvert on OR 244, milepost 45, at Whisky Creek west of La Grande. Expect flaggers and delays. • Crews are chip sealing various highway sections in Baker, Grant and Malheur counties, with work beginning in early August. Watch for crews, pilot cars, loose rock on the road and other construction impacts along OR 7, U.S. 26, U.S. 395 and other routes. • Along OR 204 (Tollgate Highway) we will close the road between milepost 34 and 35 on August 4 and 5 to construct a retaining wall to help control erosion resulting from the heavy flooding and road damage in February. The list below provides details for these projects, as well as the many others in eastern Oregon. Please remember to watch for crews, equipment and flaggers, and to be prepared to slow down or stop when you see those orange cones and construction signs.
