The Oregon Department of Transportation is committed to providing a safe and efficient transportation system. The following roadway improvement projects are located in ODOT Region 2, Area/District 5, Lane County. 


Region 2 Rumble Strip Project

Project Description: ​To install rumble strips and/or improved striping and reflective pavement markers on segments of highways throughout Region 2.

Traffic Impacts: Expect single lane closures and mobile work zones. Lane closure hours vary by location and traffic volumes. In general, rumble strip installation will take place at night and re-striping will occur during the day.

Work will occur on portions of OR 126 East and West, and OR 58 later in the summer. TripCheck will be kept up to date with the latest information on where the crews are working. There is a map and construction order posted on the website.

OR 58: Goshen to Pheasant Ln (Pleasant Hill)

Project Description: This project will update ADA ramps in Pleasant Hill and pave OR 58 from Goshen to Pheasant Lane.

Traffic Impacts: Crews are installing project signs along OR 58. ADA ramp work is scheduled to start July 22 at Ridge Way Road (near Dairy Queen).

OR 569: Beltline/Delta Interchange Project (Eugene)

Project Description: This project reconfigures the intersection to improve safety and traffic flow.

Traffic Impacts:  The northbound Delta Highway to eastbound Beltline Highway ramp is closed for six weeks as upgrades and improvements are done. Traffic will be detoured to turn left from northbound Delta Highway onto the southwest corner ramp to eastbound Beltline Highway. 

Most work affecting traffic occurs at nights and on weekends, including ramp closures and detours.

I-105: Bridge Preservation Project (Eugene)

Project Description: I-105 bridges and ramps between the Delta Highway interchange and downtown Eugene are being repaired, repaved, and getting seismic upgrades. ​​​​​​​​​

Traffic Impacts:  Single lane traffic in each direction in the westbound lanes of I-105 on the Willamette River Bridge. The Delta Highway ramps are open.

The eastbound lanes of I-105 are closed for construction on the bridge. Traffic will remain single lane in each direction until early September.

U.S. 101: Cape Creek Bridge (North of Florence)

Project Description: This project repairs and installs corrosion protection on the bridge.

Traffic Impacts: Minimal impacts as crews work on installing containment and bridge repairs on the south half of the bridge.

U.S. 101: Cape Perpetua Half Viaduct (South of Yachats)

Project Description: A new corrosion protection system is being installed, including installing a wind turbine generator under the bridge to power the system.

Traffic Impacts: Crews waiting on materials to finish the installation of the turbine system under the bridge. Crews are not expected to be actively working on the site for the next month.
