PLEASANT HILL — By fall, travelers will have a smoother ride on OR 58 Willamette Highway between Goshen and Pleasant Hill. The road will be repaved as part of a project beginning next week.

The project between mileposts 0.3 and 6.5 will begin with the construction of 20 curb ramps at five intersections in Pleasant Hill. The curb ramps will be updated to current Americans with Disability Act standards to provide better accessibility for pedestrians.

In mid-August, work will begin on two bridges in the section, placing protective waterproof deck surfaces.

Paving will begin in late August and continue through September. Work on guardrails will also occur.

Most work affecting highway traffic will be done at night, Mondays through Fridays, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday nights, work will begin at 7 p.m. Expect lane closures with flagging and intermittent delays.
