Nighttime Ramp and Intermittent Lane Closures April 13-16
Construction will continue next week installing RealTime electronic signs along I-5. These signs will assist in reducing crashes, improve travel time reliability and enhance transit operations.
The I-5 southbound on-ramp at North Victory Boulevard and the North Alberta Street on and off-ramps will experience closures. Read below for details on detour maps and directions.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS
The following ramps and intermittent lane closures will occur at night on northbound and southbound I-5 from April 13-16 while crews continue construction to install new sign bridges on I-5:
- I-5 southbound on-ramp at North Victory Boulevard from 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 14 until 5 a.m. Wednesday, April 15.
- I-5 southbound off-ramp (Exit 303) to North Alberta Street / Swan Island from 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 until 5 a.m. Thursday, April 16.
- I-5 northbound on-ramp from North Alberta Street from 9 p.m. Thursday, April 16 until 5 a.m. Friday, April 17.
- Nightly intermittent single lane closures on northbound and southbound I-5 between Marine Drive and the Fremont Bridge from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, April 13 through Thursday, April 16.
Signs will direct travelers to detours below. All closures are subject to change and are weather dependent.
DETOUR ROUTES
Detour route for the closure of the I-5 South on-ramp at Victory Blvd:
 Detour route from North Expo Road:
- Use the right lane to take the ramp onto North Denver Avenue/North Interstate Avenue.
- Turn left onto North Schmeer Road.
- Turn right onto North Vancouver Avenue.
- Turn right onto North Columbia Boulevard.
- Turn right onto the on-ramp to I-5 South.
Detour route from North Victory Boulevard:
- Turn left onto North Denver Avenue/North Interstate Avenue.
- Follow instructions above.
Detour route for the closure of the I-5 South off-ramp (Exit 303) to North Alberta Street/Swan Island:
 Detour route:
- Take the North Rosa Parks Way off-ramp (Exit 304).
- Turn left onto North Rosa Parks Way.
- Turn right onto Northeast Martin Luther King Boulevard.
- Turn right onto Northeast Killingsworth Street.
- Turn left onto the North Minnesota Avenue.
- Turn right or left onto North Alberta Street or stay straight to continue to N Going Street.
Detour route for the closure of the I-5 North on-ramp from North Alberta Street:
 Detour route from North Alberta Street (eastbound traffic):
- Continue on North Alberta Street past the closed on-ramp.
- Turn left onto Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
- Turn left onto North Rosa Parks Way.
- Turn right onto North Missouri Avenue and keep left for the on-ramp to I-5 North.
Detour route from North Alberta Street (westbound traffic):
- Continue on North Alberta Street past the closed on-ramp.
- Turn left onto North Interstate Avenue.
- Turn left onto North Going Street.
- Continue onto the I-5 Northbound on-ramp.
