Vehicle Asset Process Updates and OPTIS Vehicle Asset Information Request
Process Updates
- The New Flyer price agreement is now fully executed. Information on vendors participating on Oregon’s State Price Agreement (SPA) for ADA Certified Transit Vehicles is available on the Rail and Public Transit Division (RPTD) website. The Vendor Contact Information document includes the vehicle categories offered by each vendor.
- RPTD has also updated and created additional guidance and forms related to procurement and the sale of vehicles. The following documents have been updated and are available on the RPTD website:
- A Vehicle Purchase Checklist has been created to ensure all steps for purchasing a vehicle are completed. The checklist includes links to the guidance and required forms for each step.
- There is a new process for requesting a release of title for vehicle disposal and reporting the sale of vehicles. The Disposing of Used Public Transit Vehicles guide has been updated to help you through the new process and explains how to complete the Title Release Request Form and the Asset Disposal Notice Form.
- Additional updates are planned including to the Request for Quotes and Request for Quotes Vehicle Comparison forms. Also, look for changes to make it easier to find asset related information on RPTD’s website.
OPTIS Non-RPTD funded Vehicle Assets Information Request
Federal Transit Administration requirements include reporting on all public transportation vehicles, including those funded locally. RPTD uses the Oregon Public Transit Information System (OPTIS) for this. In a recent audit of the OPTIS asset register, we discovered that many locally-funded assets in the system are missing critical information such as vehicle GVWR and vehicle length. This information is used for both National Transit Database and Transit Asset Management reporting purposes.
Before beginning your next agency periodic report for January through March, 2020, please review the OPTIS asset register and complete any missing information. If you need assistance with this, contact your RPTD support analyst or email ODOTPTDReporting@odot.state.or.us.
