Approximately $26 million will be available in construction for Safe Routes to School

SALEM - Several Safe Routes to School workshops are set for the coming months to help cities, counties, tribes, transit agencies and public schools get ready to apply for $26 million in Safe Routes to School Construction funding. Attendees can also learn about planning assistance available through the Project Identification Program. Other workshop topics include timeline, eligibility, proposal selection process and priorities, match requirements and proposal development tips.

  • March 19: Portland, 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m., 123 NW Flanders St, Room A/B.
  • April 8: Roseburg, 9:30 a.m. - 11 a.m., 1409 NE Diamond Lake Blvd, Deer Creek Room.
  • April 9: Brookings, 2:30 p.m. - 4 p.m., 412 Alder.
  • April 24: Eugene, 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., 99 E. Broadway, Suite 400.

  • May 19: Salem, 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., 100 High Street SE.

Current information on the ODOT Safe Routes to School site focuses on the previous grant cycle. We will be updating the website with new application materials before April 2020.

The Safe Routes to School Rapid Response Grant Program is open now and accepting applications on a continual basis in 2020.
