Lane County state highway construction update

I-105 Bridge Preservation Project (Eugene) https://www.oregon.gov/odot/projects/pages/project-details.aspx?project=18577
Crews are placing seismic reinforcement on six columns between 1st and 7th Streets under the bridges.
The next portion of the project with major traffic impacts begins in February, with work on the Willamette River Bridge and Delta on-ramp.
In a two year project, I-105 bridges and ramps between the Delta Highway interchange and downtown Eugene are being repaired, repaved, and receiving seismic upgrades. Doug Kirk, Assistant Resident Engineer, (541)744-8080
OR 126/U.S. 101: Florence Streetscape and Paving Project (Florence) https://www.oregon.gov/odot/projects/pages/project-details.aspx?project=19496
Expect single lane closures in both directions of U.S. 101 along with side street closures. Daytime crews are installing new curb and gutter, sidewalks, and paving bike lanes and parking areas along U.S. 101. Side streets are closed temporarily on the east side of U.S. 101 for paving.
This project is a partnership with the City of Florence to improve the streetscape and pave. ADA facilities along U.S.101 will also be improved.
The project includes:
- Work along U.S.101 –south from the U.S.101/OR 126 Junction to the Siuslaw River Bridge & OR 126 –east from the U.S. 101/OR 126 Junction to Spruce Street
- ADA ramps, colored concrete plazas, art plinths, street lighting, underground overhead utilities, bike lanes, parking spaces along U.S. 101, and landscaping and irrigation improvements.
- S. 101 paving from the U.S.101/OR 126 Junction south to the Siuslaw River Bridge.

U.S. 101: Neahkahnie Mountain (Chasm) to Cape Creek Bridge http://www.oregon.gov/odot/projects/pages/project-details.aspx?project=17526
This project includes work on three bridges along U.S. 101:

Neahkahnie Mtn (Chasm) (North of Manzanita): A rockfall fence to prevent rocks and debris from falling onto the highway was installed and bridge repair work completed. Completed: May 2019

Cape Perpetua Half Viaduct (South of Yachats): A new cathodic protection system is being installed, including installing a wind turbine generator under the bridge to power the system. Crews are installing the walkway platform under the bridge.

Cape Creek Bridge (North of Florence): Installation of a new cathodic protection system and bridge repairs are underway. Crews are working on installing scaffolding under the bridge for the next section of work and are beginning removal of the old protective coating.

OR 58: Rock Fall Remediation (MP 54.2)
One lane will be closed intermittently during daylight hours Monday through Friday for the next week while crews finish cleanup work on the project. Expect minor delays.
This project removes loose material (scaling) from a rock face where there has been a high amount of rock fall. A screen is being installed to mitigate future rock fall. Steven Schultz, Resident Engineer (541) 757-4158
Northbound I-5 Variable Message Board Replacement (milepost 214)
Crews are replacing a variable message board on northbound I-5 at Lake Creek Road (mp 214). One lane will be closed at the location and there will be evening rolling traffic slowdowns beginning at the Randy Pape Beltline (OR 569).
Work is scheduled from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, December 9 and Tuesday, December 10.
