BACKGROUND
A land slide that occurred April 24 along OR 207 near milepost 24, one-half mile north of Mitchell, needs to be repaired. To accommodate this work we will be closing the highway to all traffic for about two weeks.
We apologize for the inconvenience of this project, but the work must be performed now before winter sets in. If delayed, there is a risk of further slide activity and more severe damage that could create a safety hazard and lead to much longer highway closures.
Detour
When this section of OR207 northbound and southbound is closed, motor carriers will be directed to use US26 to OR19. A local detour on unimproved roads (not suitable for trucks/commercial freight) is available near the closure for passenger vehicles.
