Transportation Commission to meet in Ashland

SALEM — The Oregon Transportation Commission will hold its formal monthly meeting on Thursday, Aug. 15, and Friday, Aug. 16, in the Ashland Springs Hotel, 212 East Main Street, in Ashland.

At noon on Thursday, Commissioners will take a bus tour of area projects, including the Interstate 5 Stateline project and the Siskiyou Rest Area and Welcome Center. Tour participants will meet at the hotel and return at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Transportation Commission members will begin their formal meeting at 4 p.m. in the Ballroom. Commissioners will meet with members of the Rogue Valley Area Commission on Transportation for a panel discussion.

That evening, members of the Oregon Transportation Commission, ODOT officials and members of the Rogue Valley Area Commission on Transportation will meet at 5:30 for a no-host dinner in the hotel’s Crystal Room. There is no agenda for the dinner, and no business items will be discussed.

The meeting will continue on Friday, Aug. 16 in the same location. Commissioners will participate in a Cascadia Response Workshop beginning at 9:30 a.m. The business meeting will begin at 11 a.m. Agenda items include an update on the ODOT director search, approval of Federal-Aid Highway Program funds for fiscal year 2019, approval of amendments to mobility targets for the Oregon Highway Plan, approval for Phase 2 of the Region 1 LED Lighting Replacement Project, and approval of the Winter Maintenance Strategy Implementation Status Report.
