Salem, Ore. – The Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles will meet 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 25 in Basement Training Rooms A/B at the Transportation Building, 355 Capitol St. N.E. in Salem. The Task Force will review an outline of the report proposed by ODOT staff, receive presentations from the subcommittees, and vote on subcommittee materials to be included in the report.  

The following AV Task Force subcommittee meetings have been scheduled:

July 22: Cybersecurity, Privacy and Data Subcommittee meeting, 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 22, Room 103 at the Transportation Building, 355 Capitol St. N.E. in Salem. -- The subcommittee will review draft privacy statements based on the presentations from the previous meeting and finish the discussion of the data framing homework. They will also prepare to present the subcommittee’s materials to the full task force on July 25.

August 1: Vehicle Code Amendments and Public Safety Subcommittee meeting, 2:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. Thursday, August 1, Room 340 at the Transportation Building, 355 Capitol St. N.E. in Salem. -- The subcommittee will prepare materials for a vote by the full task force, review the revised statement of intent, and discuss definitions.

August 6: Public Transit Subcommittee meeting, 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, Conference Rooms A/B at the ODOT Building at 123 N.W. Flanders St., Portland. -- The subcommittee will finalize the subcommittee materials to be reviewed by the full task force, including a memo on examples from other jurisdictions and the public transit components matrix.

August 12: Land Use Subcommittee meeting, 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Monday, August 12, Room 340 at the Transportation Building, 355 Capitol St. N.E. in Salem. -- The meeting will focus on pricing strategies, especially occupancy pricing.

August 14: Joint Meeting on Data, 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, Room 103 at the Transportation Building, 355 Capitol St. N.E. in Salem. -- The Subcommittee on Land Use and the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Privacy and Data will hold a joint meeting to discuss data access and management. They will receive a presentation from Rachel Zack, Policy Strategist at Remix. They will also discuss the data use memo prepared by the Land Use Subcommittee and the data framing homework from the Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Subcommittee.

August 15: Road and Infrastructure Design Subcommittee meeting, 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Thursday, August 15, Room 340 at the Transportation Building, 355 Capitol St. N.E. in Salem. -- The subcommittee will review the final seven impact assessments and prepare to submit materials for the full task force for a vote.

 

The task force was created by House Bill 4063, which names 31 stakeholders as members, including four legislators, state agency representatives, law enforcement, truck and automobile interests, technology company representatives, consumer interests, worker interests and more. 

The agenda for all task force and subcommittee meetings will include time for public comment, which can also be submitted via email to OregonAVTaskForce@odot.state.or.us.
