Three AV Task Force subcommittees will meet in Salem

Salem, Ore. – The Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles will host three subcommittee meetings:
1. The Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Privacy and Data will meet 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 24, Room 103 at the Transportation Building, 355 Capitol St. N.E., in Salem. Members will receive two presentations, one from Caleb Weaver on Uber’s privacy principles and one from Jessica Simmons, Assistant General Counsel for the Auto Alliance, on the Automotive Consumer Privacy Protection Principles. The subcommittee will also continue their discussion about data management.
2. The Subcommittee on Vehicle Code and Public Safety will meet 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, Room 340 at the Transportation Building, 355 Capitol St. N.E. in Salem. Members will discuss information on the vehicle code provided by the Department of Justice and consider statements of intent to submit to the Legislature.
3. The Subcommittee on Road and Infrastructure Design will meet 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, Room 340 at the Transportation Building, 355 Capitol St. N.E. in Salem. Members will review impact assessments of various road design and infrastructure elements, which were identified at the previous meeting.
The task force was created by House Bill 4063, which names 31 stakeholders as members, including four legislators, state agency representatives, law enforcement, truck and automobile interests, technology company representatives, consumer interests, worker interests and more.
The agenda for all task force and subcommittee meetings will include time for public comment, which can also be submitted via email to OregonAVTaskForce@odot.state.or.us.
