US30 Closed in Huntington

LA GRANDE-- US30 in Huntington will be closed for a potentially extended period in downtown Huntington following a late night fire on Thursday, May 23.  One of the buildings that burned is an older multi-story building that now is at risk of collapsing onto the highway.  The Mayor and Fire Chief have made the decision that motorists would be at risk if the highway to remain open, and ODOT has joined that decision and closed that stretch of highway.  It will be closed for an undetermined period of time and motorists will be advised when it reopens.
