Bicycle helmets are required by law in Oregon for kids under 16 years old, not only while bicycling, but also while skateboarding, riding a scooter, or roller skating. To stay safe, ride bicycles on the right with traffic, use hand signals, obey traffic signs and signals, be visible, and stay alert. Wearing a bicycle helmet can reduce the risk of head injury by 85%. Ride safely. The Way to Go.

Ugly Dolls Supports Child Car Safety

NHTSA and the Ad Council have joined forces with STXfilms’ Ugly Dolls to remind parents to make sure their child is in the right seat for their age and size.

These PSAs, featuring the voice talent of Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, Pitbull, Blake Shelton, and Janelle Monáe, are an extension of NHTSA and Ad Council’s Child Car Safety campaign, to ensure parents and caregivers are properly securing their children in the best car seat.

All year long, we're working to improve safety for the traveling public, property owners, employees and the workers who construct, operate and maintain our transportation system. Please do your part. Practice work zone safety every day.

We understand that when people think projects, they think about travel times. That’s completely reasonable (and as users we aren't immune to the angst of construction season either). However, let’s not forget that beyond impacts - projects also equal people. Let’s keep those people safe. They’re working hard to create a safer system for you, too.
