The following are located in ODOT Region 2, Area/District 4, including projects in Linn, Benton, Lincoln, and Polk Counties. All work is dependent on weather conditions.

Access for pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will be available and identified through or around the work zones. For updates on traffic, Know Before You Go at TripCheck.com, or call 511.

OR34: McKinney Slough Bridge Replacement
An existing bridge near milepost 1.5 is being replaced with a new structure. This new structure will be constructed one half at a time. Due to limited working space one lane of traffic will be closed for the duration of the project.

The South half of the new structure is now complete and crews have begun work on constructing the North half of the structure. One lane, two way traffic has been routed onto the completed half bridge. Traffic is controlled by a temporary signal or flaggers at all times. Expect minor delays.

U.S.101: Devil’s Lake Outlet, Schooner Cr & Siltcoos River Bridges
This project includes the following improvements at each of the three bridges:

  • Repair damaged concrete
  • Install zinc anodes to the structures to protect them from the harsh coastal climate
  • Replace bridge railings to meet current crash standards
  • Install steel and titanium rebar to strengthen bridges

Night work continues until Memorial Day, but will be intermittent depending on weather. Lane closures are in effect from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday night through Thursday night. Flaggers are directing traffic at the signal at SE 1st St during lane closures. Crews are installing steel and titanium reinforcement to the bridge deck. Work at the Devil’s Lake Outlet bridge is expected to last until the spring of 2020. Work at Schooner Creek bridge is expected to start in summer of 2019. Expect minor delays.

U.S.101: Yaquina Bay Bridge Painting
This project will paint the steel bridge members under the roadway deck in two spans of the steel structure. These members are in need of additional protection from the harsh coastal environment.

Most of the work will be done under the bridge with no impact to traffic. There will be occasional nighttime lane closures to set up containment under the bridge and move equipment. Intermittent night work will begin in the next week or two, with lane closures allowed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The eastern sidewalk is closed for the duration of the project. A temporary pedestrian crossing at the south end of the bridge will allow pedestrians to cross U.S. 101. At the north end, pedestrians can use the existing sidewalks under the bridge, which will be signed as the pedestrian detour route. This project is expected to last until October 2019. Expect minor delays.
