ODOT Begins U.S. 26 Warm Springs

Safety Corridor Project

BEND – Beginning Monday, January 21, construction crews from Laduke Construction of Medford Oregon, under contract to the Oregon Department of Transportation  (ODOT), will begin a major highway safety improvement project on US26 through much of the Warm Springs Reservation, from milepost 103 to milepost 105.

This $7.5 million project will improve the safety of US 26 and will help fulfill safety planning efforts identified in the 2017 Warm Springs Commercial Corridor Safety Plan, prioritizing safe and efficient infrastructure for all modes of transportation.

During construction motorists can expect:

  • Lane shifts utilizing temporary concrete barrier.
  • Occasional lane closures controlled by flaggers.
  • Delays up to 20 minutes.
  • Limited Duration Road Closures between MP 99 and 101.75 between the hours of 1pm – 3pm on various Tuesdays thru Thursdays. These closures will be a maximum of 20 minutes and a maximum of 6 closures will be permitted during the months of January and February 2019.

The project is expected to wrap up in Spring of 2020.

Where traffic is routed through or around this work zone, pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will also be provided routes through or around the work zone.
